Donald Edward Jones

 

Chief Petty Officer, Clearance Diver, RCN / C.A.F.

 

Died: 28 Oct 2019, London, Ontario

 

JONES, Donald Edward - Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Mount Hope LTC on October 28, 2019 at the age of 81. Don will be forever missed by his loving wife Marion of 53 years. He is survived by his children Michael (Tanya) and Penny Brush (Bill). Proud grandpa of Angelina, Erin, Brett, Connor and Renee and great grandpa of Tehya and Emma. Sadly missed by his siblings Barbara Vandyke, Helen Hewerdine, Robert & Kenneth and families. Don is predeceased by his parents Kayo and Margaret Jones. Brother-in-law Ed Vandyke and sister-in-law Sandy. Don was Chief Clearance Diver of HMCS Cormorant. He taught training courses in clearance diving and ships diving at the Fleet Diving Unit in Shearwater NS. After retirement he worked on the offshore oil rigs as a remote submersible pilot and diving supervisor. Cremation has taken place. Private family service. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation & Alzheimer Society London-Middlesex. (Mount Pleasant Cemetery (London) Inc.)
