Dennis was born in Oyster Pond, Nova Scotia, the son of George and Cecelia Warnell. He was survived by his wife Leena May Warnell. Dennis had 4 sisters and 2 brothers: Edith (Mrs. Philip Myers), Jeddore; Effie (Mrs. Ernest Warner), Dartmouth; Alice (Mrs. R.C. Dares), Dartmouth; Sadie (Mrs. L.B. Horne - Corporal L.B. Horne, R.C.E.); Hallen Ward Warnell (RNCVR), and George Warnell
** The RCN Ledger sheets list his date of birth as 24 Oct 1985. His registration of death lists his date of birth as 22 Oct 1895. The 1901 Census for Nova Scotia lists his date of birth as 22 Oct 1986. For the purpose of this website, the information from the RCN Ledger sheets was used.
