Died: 13 Sep 2016, Ottawa, Ontario

 

CATHCART, William Franklin (Bill) - Retired Staff Sergeant 35 years of Ottawa Police Service Peacefully on Tuesday September 13, 2016 at Queensway Carleton Hospital in his 79th year after a five year courageous battle with blood cancer. Predeceased by his wife Josephine (2008). Dear father of Kevin (Sharon) of Oshawa. Fondly remembered by granddaughters Ashley and Alexandria of Oshawa. Loving Brother to James (Gail) of Almonte, Janet (George Allen deceased) of Sioux Lookout and Jean (Maynard Hamilton) of Stittsville and predeceased by Judy, Cindi and Thomas. Predeceased by parents William (1995) and Phyllis (2014) of Stittsville. Fond uncle of Connie, Robert, Donna, Sandra, Joan and David. Friend of Bill W. Bill served in the Royal Canadian Navy as a leading seaman from 1957 - 1963. Friends may call at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre (2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa) on Saturday September 24 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service to be held in the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow. Private Family Interment Stittsville United Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses of the Hematology unit of the Ottawa General Hospital for their kind, compassionate care over the last five years.
