GRANT, James William (General) - 56, West Indian Road, Hants Co., died February 2, 1996, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in England, he was a son of William H. and Alma Alice (Pineo) Grant, England. He was a Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class in the Canadian Navy for over 31 years, previously with the Royal Navy. He assisted in training of Canadian personnel in submarine use. He was a resident of West Indian Road, Hants Co., for over nine years and was a member of Elmsdale Branch, Royal Canadian Legion. Surviving are his wife, the former Sandra Lucas; sons, Derrick, Winnipeg; Jim, at home; daughters, Katrina, Leitrim, Ottawa; Nicole, at home; brother, Peter, England; sister Janet, England. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, legion service 7 p.m. Tuesday, funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday all in Ettinger Funderal Home, Shubenacadie. Rev. Kim Little officiating. Burial at a later date. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society.
