HARRISON, James Leslie - of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully September 29, 2018 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born December 4, 1946 in England, United Kingdom, Jim transferred to the RCN in 1967 and served a combined total of 30 years in uniform. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 50 years, Sandra (Morrison); his son, Jimmy and daughter-in-law, Colleen (Green) of Lake Loon; his daughter, Marnie and son-in-law, Mike Matthews of Marwayne, Alta.; his cherished grandkids, James and Victoria (Harrison) and Julia and Michael (Matthews) of whom he was so very proud. Jim is also survived by his sister, Margaret Ritchie, Bethany, Ont.; brother-in-law, Kevin Williams, Cobourg, Ont.; sister-in-law, Cheryl, Renald Blanchet, Que.; brother-in-law, Christopher Morrison, Wallace, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Phyllis (Baxter); brother, Victor in infancy; his eldest sister, Sandra; his mother and father-in-law, Chris and Theresa Morrison and sister-in-law, Donna (Andre) LeMoine. A final farewell for family and friends will be held from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, October 3rd at the home of his son: 188 Lochmoor Lane, Montague Estates, Lake Loon. Donations in memory of Jim can be made to Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to thank the many HRM health care providers who made the last 11 years possible: staff at the Dixon Centre, the VG chemotherapy unit and both surgical and emergency professionals at Dartmouth General.
