Born: 17 Jun 1925, Winnipeg, Manitoba

 

Died: 14 Dec 2000, Victoria, British Columbia

 

WHEELER, Roy de Forest - Died suddenly on December 14, 2000 at Victoria, BC. Roy was born June 17, 1925 and was raised in Winnipeg. He served in the Navy 1943-1968 and later worked for Heath and Welfare Canada 1970-1985. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Helen and daughters Lynne (Robin) Godard, of Vernon; Cathy (Dave) Thomas of Brentwood Bay and son Ralph of Victoria; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren. No service at Roy's request. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, a donation in Roy's name to The Chief and Petty Officers' Veterans Assistance Society would be appreciated. Roy enlisted in the RCNVR for WW2 and later transferred to the RCN.

 

Ships served in:

HMCS CAYUGA - Served in Cayuga during her 1st Korean War tour. Listed on Cayuga's nominal roll for 30 Jun 1951 as P2CV2
