MONTGOMERY, Hugh John - Passed away supported by family members at Columbia Forest Nursing Home on Friday, April 18, 2014 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late Annette Montgomery. He will be sadly missed by his son Mark Montgomery and Mark's wife Laurie Maxwell and by his daughter Hulene Montgomery and her husband Michael Graham; his granddaughter Victoria Montgomery, her husband Nick Wollis and their two children Beau and Tanner, his grandson Luke and his son Ryker; and his granddaughter Heather Montgomery and her husband Tom Hudacin, along with their two children, Imogen and Gabriel. Hugh is survived by his brother Bill Montgomery. His mother Lucy Montgomery, three sisters (Vern, Cleo & Lulabelle) and one brother (Roy) pre-deceased Hugh. Hugh enjoyed the love and affection of many nieces and nephews on both his and his wife's side of the family. In addition, he will be missed by many friends in the Waterloo Region with whom he worked over the many years of his career or for whom he was a neighbour in Ayr. Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Hugh at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Tuesday evening April 22 between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home, Margaret Nally officiating, on Wednesday April 23, at 10:30 in the morning. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. The family wish to thank the wonderful caregivers at both Luther Village Sunshine Centre and Columbia Forest for their care and loving understanding shown to Hugh and all his family. The family would appreciate gifts to Ryan's Well Foundation and KidsAbility Foundation, two charities reflecting Hugh's involvement with his great grandchildren.
