EDMONDS, Harold Austin Joseph (Bud) (24 Feb 1924 - 01 Jun 2015) - Peacefully passed away at the Juravinski Hospital, in his 92nd year. Predeceased by his first wife Lois (nee Shields) 1971. Lovingly remembered by his wife Joan. Dear father of Cathy (James) Perro, and step-daughter Melody (Dan) MacKinnon. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Cameron, Michelle (Matthew) Scoular, and Zachery, and great-granddaughter Grace Scoular. Bud was a Veteran of the Navy, he served on HMCS SEA CLIFF, a frigate, and played Senior hockey for the Navy. Veteran of the Hamilton-Wentworth Police Dept. for 31 1/2years, retired in Dec. 1983. Bud was chosen as "Policeman of the Year" by the Waterdown Optimist Club. He continued to work as the Municipal By-Law Officer in Dundas for 5 years. Over 50 year member of the Y.M.C.A. playing hand ball, racket ball, volleyball and other sports. A member of Canadian Legion. Volunteered for the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Jump Rope for Heart Program, Canadian Red Cross, Blood Donor Clinic in Dundas, Burlington's Sound of Music Festival and was generous of his time in helping others. Bud made great friends at the Y, Euchre and Twenty Place, actually everywhere he went. Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life at Marlatt Funeral Home "Swackhamer Chapel", 195 King St W., Dundas, ON on Saturday, July 25, 2015 between 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. Donations to the Hamilton Y.M.C.A., "Strong Kids" would be greatly appreciated.
