CORCORAN, John Vincent, Shipwright 5c, V55859, RCNVR, died - 04 Apr 1944, HMCS GIVENCHY - Born 17 May 1924, son of Martha A. Corcoran, Port Arthur, ON.
Shipwright 5th Class J. V. Corcoran was working at HMC Dockyard, Esquimalt. He died when his clothes caught fire while he was welding in a confined space on board HMCS NORSAL. He had been in the Canadian Navy for one year and eighteen days. Prior to enlisting he was employed as a welder.
