Harbour Craft

The MARIA THERESA (formerly M.F. Therese) was chartered by the RCN to carry cargoes from Halifax to Newfoundland and for Harbour Duty for transport of stores and liberty men for ships in Bedford Basin.

There is some conflicting information as to the name of the vessel after she was chartered by the RCN.  The Canadian Navy List show her names as follows:

Jun 1940 - Maria Theresa

Sep 1940 - Maria Theresa and M.F. Therese

Feb 1941 Maria Theresa and Marie F. Therese

Mar 1941 - Maria Theresa and Marie F. Therese

Jun 1941 - Maria Theresa and Marie F. Therese 

Jul 1941 - Maria Theresa and Marie F. Therese

Aug 1941 - Maria Theresa and Marie F. Therese

Oct 1941 - Maria Theresa and Marie F. Therese

Dec 1941 - M.F. Therese

Jan 1942 - Marie F. Therese

Apr 1942 - M.F. Therese

* No further entries after Apr 1942 under the above names.  

Starting in Sep 1942 she was referred to as H.C. 67
