HMS GODETIA was commissioned on 15 Jul 1940. On 06 Sep 1940 she was sunk in a collision with the merchant ship Marsa 3 nautical miles off Altacarry Head in position 55º18'N, 05º57'W with a loss of 33 of her crew.
