In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
LUBIN, Darcy Peter Fredrick - Youbou, BC - Darcy was born in Halifax on January 17, 1943. He proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy for over 30 years. After retiring from the Navy, he went on to run Lubin's Campsite for more than 35 years, where he created so many memories and friendships.
Darcy loved the simple things in life — fishing, going to the casino, mushroom picking, and sitting down with friends and family over a coffee. He was always happy to have a visit and never seemed to run out of stories to tell.
Darcy was also a Shriner and was always willing to give his time to help with fundraising and support others. He quietly gave back in his own way, and that generosity was another part of what made him so special.
We will especially miss listening to Darcy's stories about history. He was incredibly knowledgeable and such a great storyteller. He could take you back in time with the stories he shared, and he always had something interesting to tell you. He was such a positive and happy person, and his stories and laughter will stay with us.
He will be dearly missed by many family and friends.
A service will be held October 1, 2026 @ 1:00 to 330pm at Royal Canadian Legion, 761 Station Avenue. (The Victoria Times Colonist 26 Sep 2026)
