In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
CLAYTON, William George - of Saskatoon passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 13, 2004 at Parkridge Centre. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Saskatoon Funeral Home, (courtesy parking south the chapel on 4th Ave. N.). He was predeceased by his father Reginald in 1943, his mother Millicent in 1953, a brother Robert in 1999 and a brother-in-law John in 1997. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Margaret; three sons Terry (Pimpar) of Thailand, David of Laos and Neil (Leigh) of Vernon, B.C.; two daughters Nancy (Bruce) of Saskatoon and Susan (Doug) of Ottawa, ON; grandchildren Dana, Natasha and Keenan; sister Florence of Medicine Hat, AB; two brothers John and Thomas (Ellen) both of Harris, SK; two sisters-in-law Marg of Parksville, B.C. and Dorothy (Gerry) of Kelowna, B.C.; brother-in-law George (Kim) of Vernon, B.C.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was born on January 16, 1922 in Harris, SK. He served his country in the RCNVR from August 1942 to October 1945 and re-entered the RCN in June 1948, retiring in March 1970 as a Chief Petty Officer. Returning to the Prairies from the east coast, Dad and Mom chose to settle in Saskatoon. He retired a second time, from Western Automotive, at the age of 65 years. Bill's hobbies were fixing things, watching sports, swimming and walking. He loved to talk with everyone, and enjoyed traveling, always taking the "scenic route " in life. Dad was a family man, respected and loved by all who knew him. If desired, donations in Bill's memory may be made to Parkridge Centre, 110 Gropper Cres, Saskatoon, Sask. S7M5Z9 or to the charity of one's choice. Our family's special thank you to all the wonderful staff at Parkridge, and to our family, friends and neighbours, for your many kindnesses and support.
