BREWER, Dick Warren - beloved husband of Mrs. Edith Brewer of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Friday, July 5, 1996 at the age of 72 years, four days after their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Dick was born March 8, 1924 at Lacombe to Chauncey and Fern Brewer. He served his country in the Navy for 2 years during WWII. He was married to Edith Edwards on July 1, 1946 at Lacombe. He worked as an assistant agent for C.P. Rail for 5 years then a Clergyman for 18 years associated with the Apostolic Church of Pentecost and most recently with Alberta Corrections as a Correctional Officer at Edmonton until his retirement In 1989. Besides his loving wife Edith, he is survived by their children Richard (Judy) of Strathmore, Judy (Jim) Freeman of Stony Plain, Barrie (Edwlna) of Benalto, Bryan (Dianne) of Drayton Valley, Glen (Shamin) of Calgary, and Sharilyn (Enrique) Brewer of Abbotsford, B.C.; eighteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, sisters Phoebe (Clarence) Eklund of Rimbey, Thelma (Clarence) Drader of Sherwood Park, Myrtle (Keith) Booth of Red Deer. He was predeceased by his brother Arthur In 1946. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 10, 1996 at 2:00 p.m. from 67th Street Chapel" of the Red Deer Funeral Home, 6150 - 67the Street, Red Deer, conducted by the Reverend Daniel Hogg and the Reverend Cal Keys and assisted by Jim Culham. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery on 67th Street, Red Deer.
