RUTHERFORD, John Bruce - Retired after 30 years with the OPP joining on July 3rd, 1971 and retiring on July 31st 2001. He served in Woodstock, Burks Falls and Barrie. Previously served 6 Years with the Royal Canadian Navy joining on September 1964 until September of 1970. John received great enjoyment riding with the Blue Knights crossing North America and abroad. Passed away peacefully at the Barrie Manor Retirement Home in Barrie on, Sunday at June 17, 2018, at the age of 72. John Rutherford was the beloved husband of the late Caroline (nee Murphy). Loving father of Bonnie Rutherford and her husband Trevor Hand and Julie Rutherford and her partner Jim Murphy. Dear grandfather of Jessie and Jordan. Brother of Joan Kielb and her husband Steve of Burlington and Janice Pearson and her husband John of Woodstock. A celebration of life will be held at the Jennett Funeral and Cremation Centre 152 Bradford St., Barrie on Thursday, June 21st, at 2:00p.m. There will be a reception following the service at Greg Kielb's (2800 Highway 26, Minesing).
