de SILGUY, Martin John - Beloved husband of Dorothy (née Peever) de Silguy. Proud father of Andrea Burdick (Scott), Robin (Heather) and Trevor. Cherished grandfather of Matthew de Silguy (Riley), Travis (Katherine), Emily and Trent Burdick and Armande de Silguy. Great-grandfather of Bentley and Owen Burdick and Scotlynn de Silguy.
Also survived by sister Claudette Vanstone (Bob).
After serving 5 years in the Canadian Navy, Martin joined the OPP in 1965. He was a proud founding member of the OPP Pipes and Drums (later re-named the Commissioner’s Own Pipes and Drums). He served as side, tenor and base drummer as well as Drum Major for many years.
Martin loved his family and travelling whenever he could.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Salvation Army Barrie Citadel (151 Lillian Crescent, Barrie) beginning at 1pm followed by a luncheon in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Salvation Army, Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. (Barrie Today 11 Jul 2025)
