In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
PICKERING, E. Keith - 91, of Truro passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25 2025 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Born in 1934 in Leamington, Ontario he was the son of the late Gordon Ross and Margaret May (Lamarsh) Pickering.
In 1951, Keith joined the Canadian Navy, where in 1955 on a stop in England, he met the love of his life. After 5 years in the Navy, he then spent 15 years in the Canadian Air Force. Keith was an employee of Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital in Cape Breton, for 14 years, from which he retired from in 1994.
He was a loving father to Keith Pickering Jr. (Peggy McGraw), Julie Creelman (James Creelman), Mark Pickering (Maria Pascal); grandfather to Brent Deneau, Shellee Rushton, Stephen Pickering, Brian Pickering, Shawn Pickering, Sydney Pickering, Daniel Pickering, Jacob Pickering, Christopher Trenholm and Jeremy Trenholm; great grandfather to Tara Deneau, Cassandra Deneau, Aiden Rushton, Lucas Pickering and Amelia Pickering.
Keith was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Evelyn Pickering, as well as his daughter, Diane (Carl) Trenholm.
Honouring Keith's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will not be a memorial service. Donations in his memory may be made to Colchester East Hants Hospice Society or Diabetes Canada. (Mattatall - Varner Funeral Home)
