In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
ANDERSON, Henry Allen - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Henry Allen Anderson, who died peacefully in his sleep, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, in his 107th year. Born in Port Stanley, Ontario, to Agnes (Howe) and Elmer Anderson, Henry was the fourth of eight children. In 1943, he married Mary (née Butt), with whom he shared over 60 years of marriage until her passing in 2006. Henry proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War as a Stoker First Class stationed in Halifax. After the war, he moved to Toronto and worked at the family business, Anderson Brothers Tool and Die. A highlight of his career was contributing a component used on the Canadarm of the International Space Station. He enjoyed many years at his cottage on Pigeon Lake and, after retirement, wintered in Florida with Mary. Henry was an active member of Willowdale Pentecostal Church and loved family gatherings, whether at the annual Anderson Family Picnic or Sunday dinners. Henry was predeceased by his wife, Mary (2006); and daughter, Patricia (2025). He is survived by his daughter, Beth-Ann Crandell (Larry); son-in-law, George Catleugh; grandchildren, Laura-Lee (Manuel), Melanie, Otis (Modeline), Joyce (Sean), and Christopher (Lee-Ann); and great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Emily, Ella, Angel, Holly, and Abby; as well as extended family and friends. To honour Henry's dedication to his country and his soft heart for every dog he met, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund or your local Humane Society would be appreciated.
