ZINCK, George Albert - 86, Bigg Strong Retirement Home, 98 Dufferin St., Bridgewater, formerly of Back Centre, died January 10, 1997, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Lower Rose Bay, he was a son of the late Ellison E. and Maggie (Cook) Zinck. He was a fisherman for 30 years and later went to work as a commissionaire at National Sea Products, Lunenburg, for eight years before his retirement. During the Second World War, he served in the Royal Canadian Navy for five years (1940-1945). He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 24, Bridgewater, and a former member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 23, Lunenburg. He was a member of First South United Church. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are daughter, Patricia (Mrs. Arthur Jolicoeur), Windsor, Ont.; sons, Ralph, Blue Rocks; Rodney, Back Centre; Brian, Calgary, Alta.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Florence Leary; sister, Margaret; brother, Melbourne. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday, both in Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg, Rev. Robyn BrownHewitt officiating. Burial in Harbour View Cemetery, Rose Bay. Flowers from immediate family only.
