LOBB, Alvin Leslie - Peacefully at London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Campus on Saturday September 5, 2009 Mr. Alvin Leslie Lobb of Clinton in his 92nd year. Alvin was born in Goderich Township on December 23, 1917 son of the late Wilbert Roy Lobb and the late Ada Melita (Harris) Lobb. He was a member of Clinton United Church. Alvin served in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II and was a long time member of the Royal Candaian Legion, Clinton Branch No. 140. Alvin was also a member and Past Master of the Clinton Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. No. 84. He was also a member of the Bluewater Shrine Club and Order of the Eastern Star, Clinton Chapter No. 266. Beloved husband of the late Edith (McBride) Lobb (1999). Dear father and father-in-law of Marie and Les Brown of Kenora, Joan and Kirk Lyndon of Goderich, Gerry and Brenda Lobb of Dundas, Ron and Barbara Lobb of Brights Grove and Raymond and Hiedi Lobb of R.R #2, Clinton. Loved and sadly missed by 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Joy Docking of Mitchell, Jim and Verna Lobb of R.R #2 Clinton and Grace Pym of Exeter. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 2 sisters Margaret Critch and Bernice McFarlane and by 2 brothers Mervyn and Harold Lobb. Friends were received at the Falconer Funeral Homes Ltd - Clinton Chapel 153 High Street, Clinton on Thursday from 1:30 -3:30 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service was held at the Clinton United Church on Friday September 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m with Reverend Leslie Searles officiating. Interment Clinton Cemetery. Flower Bearers were Jenny Lobb, Lyndsey Lobb and Tasha Danieli. Pallbearers were Darryl Brown, Marcus Lobb, Mathew Lobb, Ryan Lobb, Chris Lyndon and Allan Pym. Donations to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Fund, Parkinsons Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. A memorial service was held by the Order of the Eastern Star, Exeter Chapter No. 222 on Thursday at 6:15 p.m followed by a Masonic Service by Clinton Lodge A.F & A.M no. 84 at 6:30 p.m.
