In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
McBride, Thomas Clark (Tom) - Peacefully, at his home in Waterloo, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, with his family present, Tom McBride passed away at age 99. He is survived by three daughters, Eileen (Wayne), Catherine, and Mary (Brandon). Tom was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marjorie; his parents, and sisters. He leaves three grandchildren, Thomas, Katy, and Nicholas; and six great-grandchildren. Tom was known for his honesty, integrity, and his ability to repair just about anything. He was hardworking and steadfast, qualities instilled in him by his Scottish parents, and a staunch supporter of his parish church, Forest Hill United in Kitchener, as well as Timothy Eaton Memorial Church in Toronto. Dad had a great love of music and began cornet lessons at age 13. He joined the band of the 48th Highlanders at age 15 and served in the band of the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II until the end of the hostilities. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life at Tom's home will follow in the near future. The family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to Waterloo Region Health Network (St. Mary's Hospital and Grand River Hospital) and Care Partners for their excellent and compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations to Forest Hill United Church in Kitchener, Timothy Eaton Memorial Church in Toronto, or Waterloo Region Health Network would be appreciated.
