SPENCE, Chesley Dale - The death of Chesley “Dale” Spence, loving husband of Joanne (Brown) Spence occurred on Monday June 14, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1938 in Cape Tormentine, NB he was the son of the late Chesley William and Vivian (Snowdon) Spence. Dale was a Veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy serving as a Stoker (EM). He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 53 and Main Brace and a life member of both. Dale was an avid dart player and was a chairman for the city and district for many years.

 

In addition to his loving wife Joanne of 51 years, he is survived by his sons Willie (Jeannie), Dale (Tressa) and John; daughters Vivian Spence (Todd Hutchinson) and Cathy Kerfont (Eddy); eight grandchildren Jessica, Danielle, Sarah, Cara, Michael, Christy, Dale and Eric; one great granddaughter Cailynn; sisters Mavis Flecknell and Iva Mackin (Fred); sister-in-law Maxine Coleman of Ottawa; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brother Ronald P. MacNeil and sister Gaye Maureen Pauley.

 

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Wednesday June 16, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Tribute to a Veteran service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday June 17, 2010 at 10 a.m. The family would appreciate donations made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
