GRUNDY, Roger Frank - was born in Hamilton Beach, Hamilton, Ontario on 18th July 1934 and he was the son of James Leo Grundy and Irene Gladys Grundy (nee Thomson). He has three older sisters.
After leaving school he joined the Royal Canadian Navy as an Ordinary Seaman. In January 1955 it is believed that he was one of a 2ne Block draft of Canadian Navy personnel (four Officers and one hundred and eighteen Ratings) who arrived at HMS DOLPHIN 'for Submarine Training'. By April 1958 he had been in the Navy for six years and was a Leading Seaman serving in Submarine HMS SERAPH.
Twenty-three-year-old Roger Grundy is reported to have been killed in a motorcycle accident in Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire on Saturday 26th April 1958.
His Next of Kin were listed as Mr. & Mrs. John Turner of 20, Waverley Avenue, Hamilton Beach, Ontario. Also, may also have had two half siblings - Janice Margaret Turner and Kenneth Brian Turner.
Roger Grundy is buried in the Faslane Naval Cemetery in Garelochhead, Argyll and Bute, Dunbartonshire, Scotland. He was serving in HMS/M Seraph when he died. No picture found only picture of Headstone in Faslane Naval Cemetery.
