In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
JACOBSEN, Alex Loystrup - is survived by the love of his life, Margaret; his son, Brian; daughter Anne Marie (Michael); and 6 grandchildren; Michael, Colin, Maggie, Kierstin, Katie, and Mathew. He was a proud husband, Dad, Grampy, golfer, and member of the Knights of Columbus. He was born in Virum, Denmark, and moved to Whitby, Ontario at the age of 10. Alex later joined the Royal Canadian Navy as a hull tech, a job that led him to Nova Scotia. In his later years, Alex started his very successful home inspection business, NovaSpec. He was extremely proud of his business. Alex was very close with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a man who would drop everything to help those he loved, and he did it with a smile. Alex attended every sports game, graduation, recital, and event involving his children and grandchildren. We could always count on him. His vibrant sense of humour, love of food, and zest for life will live on through his family. We miss him dearly. A special thank you to the paramedics who helped Alex, the staff at Cobequid Emergency, and the staff on 5.2 at the QEII Hospital, especially Dr.Hamodat, and nurses Astryd, Svetlana, and Rebecca. A funeral mass will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4 Beaver Bank Rd, on Thursday July 3rd, at 11:00 a.m. (The Halifax Chronicle-Herald 30 Jun 2025)
