In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
HUARD, Lyle Douglas - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Lyle Huard, beloved husband, father and grandfather at the age of 87.
Born in Ottawa in 1938, Lyle lived a full and meaningful life marked by love, dedication, and unwavering humor. In 1960, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy, which brought him to Halifax, where he met the love of his life, Aileen. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared 61 wonderful years of marriage, raising two daughters, Kelley (Barry) and Kim (Jaimie).
Lyle spent many years working with Coca-Cola and Canada Post, but it was his role as a family man that truly defined him. His world revolved around his grandchildren, Victoria (Michael), Emma (DJ), and the late Alex, whose memory he carried with him always, and they are now reunited.
He found great joy in playing golf at Ken-Wo Golf Club, cheering on the Blue Jays, and keeping up with all his favorite sports. His quick wit and ever-present humor lit up every room, and he never missed a chance to share a joke or a story that made others smile.
Lyle leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his devoted wife Aileen, his daughters and sons-in-law and his granddaughters.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible paramedics, doctors, and nurses for their compassion and care. (T. J. Tracey Cremation & Burial Specialists)
