The son of Irene Simpson and George S. Brien. Educated at Ridgetown High School. Graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Science (1940). The husband of Jewel (nee Johnston) of Kingston, ON. They were married 27 Mar 1944 in Kingston.
BRIEN, Earl William - Peacefully at Ottawa Civic Hospital on Thursday December 7, 2006. Earle Brien of Ottawa, in his 90th year. Beloved Husband of 62 years to Jewel Johnston. Dear Father of Bill (Lynne) Brien of Lakefield, Tedd (June) Brien of Ottawa. Predeceased by brother, Lloyd Brien and sister, Donna Johnson.
Fondly remembered by grandchildren; Cheryl (Vince), Scott and Lindsey and great-granddaughter, Cassidy. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Scotland Funeral Home, 27 Main Street, Elgin on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Monday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment Olivet Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Seeley's Bay United Church would be appreciated by the family. (Scotland Funeral Home)
