John Bryans enlisted in the C.E.F during the First World War on 20 Sep 1915. He served in the 3rd Division Supply Column. He was discharged as Medically Unfit on 06 Apr 1916. He then joined the RNCVR in Oct 1917 and served until Dec 1918.
John's headstone says he served in the RCNVR, but this is incorrect. He service in the Navy was in the RNCVR. This was a common error when sailors who served in the first world war died after 1923 due to the RNCVR being disbanded in 1923 and the RCNVR being stood up.
