Died: 21 May 2025, Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada

 

GRIFFITH, Douglas Hazen - It is with deep sadness that we announce that Douglas Hazen Griffith, "Griff", age 81, peacefully passed away on May 20, 2025. Doug served Canada as a Chief Petty Officer in the navy for over 35 years. While serving, he made meaningful contributions to our country, wonderful friendships, and fostered his love of the ocean. He cherished spending time with his wife and family.

 

His unique sense of humour and quick wit will be missed dearly by his family. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Griffith, his four children, Terra Hummer nee Griffith, Douglas Griffith, Laura Symes nee Griffith, David Griffith, his six grand children, Alex Hummer, Tyler Neill, Camille Hummer, Jack Dickson, Tamya Sender, Akio Morimoto, and two great grandchildren, Nixon Neill and Ayla Pellis.

 

The family would like to thank Nanaimo Regional Hospital for their kindness and care.

 

You will be missed, until we meet again. A celebration of life will be on June 22 from 2pm until 4pm at 5334 Georgia View Crescent, Nanaimo, BC. (Evergreen Crematory Centre Ltd.)
