In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
RAFUSE, William Joshua - The death took place at his home in Chester of William Joshua Rafuse at the age of 55 after an illness of some months.
Deceased was the son of the late Harding Rafuse and wife of East Chester and lived here nearly al his life.
He served during the war in the Can. Navy as Chief Petty Officer and was a member of the Chester Legion and also Can. Order of Foresters. He is survived by his widow formerly Miss Elsie Abbie Rafuse of Chester.
One son Neil at home; one daughter Betty, Mrs. David Baker Bridgetown; three brothers, Dewey, Reuben and Roy, all of E. Chester and one sister Sadie, Mrs. Bert Lundgren of E. Chester.
The funeral took place on Sat. afternoon at St. Stephen's Church and the new C. of E. Cemetery, with the Rector Rev. G. F. Seymour officiating.
The members of the Chester Legion attended in a body and performed their ceremony at the graveside.
The Last Post was sounded by Harvey Nauss.
The Pall bearers were Reginald Houghton, Russell Bond, Clayton Bond and James Boutilier.
