WILLIAMSON, William Edward (Bill) - passed away suddenly at home on Friday, November 7, 2014 at the age of 92. Dear husband of Eileen (nee Hunt) for 71 years. Loving father of Ed (June), Ron (Bette) and Ken (Ginny). Proud grandfather of Kyle, Brett (Michelle), Lisa (Jason), Myles, Will and great-grandfather of Charlie and Daphne Shuttleworth and Rileigh Williamson. Predeceased by granddaughter Julie Williamson. Bill was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the Navy on Corvettes and Mine Sweepers, contributing to the D Day invasion. Bill was born in Markham on the Williamson farm and he and Eileen were married when Bill was home on leave. After leaving the Navy, Bill built a house on 16th Avenue in Markham, where Williamson Road is now. He spent 41 years with Remington Rand which later became Univac. He enjoyed his retirement years at the cottage on Georgian Bay, where he spent many happy hours with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. Visitation will be held at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main St. N., Markham, on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1 p.m. Interment at St. Philip's on-the-Hill Anglican Cemetery.
