MARTIN, Blair Joseph - Age 78 of Kingston, passed away peacefully in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton on Friday, September 26, 2014, after a leng­thy illness. Born in Baie Ste. Anne, N.B., in 1936 he was a son of the late Edmond D. and Mina (McIn­tyre) Martin. After serving 22 years in the Royal Cana­dian Navy, he went on to serve with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. Dad was an avid New York Yankees and NASCAR fan. Surviving besides his loving wife of 59 years the former Carol Ann Collins are daughters, Debra (Robert) Tremblay, Ottawa; Pauletta, Ontario; Belinda, Oromocto, N.B.; Shawna Melanson, Ottawa; Lisa (William) Tracey, Ottawa; Brenda (Dean) Awalt, Musquodoboit; son, Anthony, Ontario; sisters, Elva (Guy) Savoie, Baie Ste. Anne; Irene (Yvon) Gingras, Moncton; Loretta (Elphage) Sippley, Baie Ste. Anne; brother, Hilarion, Baie Ste. Anne; son-in-law, David Hudock, Ottawa; 17 grand­children and 15 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by daughter, Laura; grandsons, Christopher and Michael; son-in-law, Matthew Billard. He will be greatly missed by his little dog 'Mikey'. By request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. Donations in memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. (902) 825-3448.
