LUCE, Vernon - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Thursday, March 20, 2014 in his 89th year. Loving father of Peter Luce, Carolyn Luce, Maureen Luce and Catherine Luce. Special friend of Jane Luce. Cherished grandfather of Patrice Andrade, Daniel Andrade, Joseph Andrade, Alexander Andrade, Stuart Graham, Bridget Graham, Danika Graham, David Luce, Sarah Luce and Ethan Luce. Predeceased by his siblings Fred Luce, Anne Luce and Noreen Wach. Vern was a Second World War Veteran who served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Battle of the Atlantic. Family will receive friends at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St. N., Cambridge, on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 7:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m. Rosary prayers at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church (South Street and Chalmers), Cambridge, on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Cambridge Memorial Hospital or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be appreciated by the family. (The Winnipeg Free Press 22 Mar 2014)
