Died: 14 Aug 2014, Thunder Bay, Ontario

 

DAWSON, Donald George - passed away on Thursday August 14, 2014 at Pioneer Ridge. Don was born May 3, 1923 in Fort William Ontario. He attended Fort William Collegiate and was a veteran of World War II having served aboard the Ville de Quebec. After the war, Don worked as a government grain inspector. He was an avid football and baseball fan and gardener and was a charter member of the Fort William Redskins and the Canadian Legion Branch 6. Don is survived by step-children Diane Eaton (St. Catharine’s), John Lamke (Shelly Gibson), David Lamke, sisters Dorothy Kushner and Verna Gallaway, two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Irene Edna Dawson (Biggs) and sisters Edith Dawson, Violet Evans and Florence Antoniak. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the kind staff at Pioneer Ridge. According to Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place. (the Chronicle Journal 16 Aug 2014)
