In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
JOHNSTON, Charles Henry (Rock) - passed away on April 20,2025 at VRH in Kentville, NS surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 31, 1937 in Port Lambton, Ontario to Francis and Frances (Moran) Johnston. Rock joined the RCN in 1955, after a five year tour, he transferred to RCAF in 1961, where he served until his retirement in 1980; at which time he continued working at CFB Greenwood in the Construction Engineering Department until 1995 Rock was predeceased by his parents and his siblings, David, Malcolm, Rita, and Melba. He is survived by his wife Patricia, daughters Melissa (Terry Reeves), Becky (Robert McMullen) and Patti ( Mike Smith), sisters Wilma Henry, Norma Smith and sister-in-law Mary Anne Johnston. Six grandchildren, Natasha (Kyle), Brandon, Keefe, Isabel (Ben) Molly (Dylan) and Jason. He will also be remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. In accordance with his wishes, Rock donated his body to Science so there for interment will take place at a later date. Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 24th at 2:00 at Berwick Baptist Church Annex. Donations in memory may be made to Fidelis House in Kentville, NS or the charity of your choice.
