CADEAU, Paul Arthur - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our father Paul Arthur Cadeau, 88, of Dartmouth N.S. Born 1936 in Port Colborne, Ontario he was the eldest of four children born to parents Arthur Gabriel and Winnifred Ethel (Saville) Cadeau.

Paul began his seafaring ways in 1953 with the Merchant Marines as a stoker in a coal burning upper laker. He then served 37 years in the Royal Canadian Navy on both coasts, Ottawa, and overseas after enrolling in 1955 as an ordinary seaman, retiring in 1992 as a Naval Commander. He served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Maritime Command Pacific, as an Aerospace Engineering Officer and commanded the military contingent at Defense Research in Dartmouth, and Fleet Maintenance Group in Halifax, during his polished career.

In his retirement he co-authorized the “Naval Engineering Manual” for combat systems. From 1994 until 2010 he volunteered with FSNA (Federal Superannuates National Association), currently known as National Association of Federal Retirees, where he was involved with briefing various Ministers in Ottawa on subjects concerning retired Federal Pensioners.

He is pre-deceased by his loving wife “Ruth”, of 66 years of marriage, as-well-as sisters Joyce Cadeau and Marilyn Cadeau both of Burlington, Ontario.
