In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
HALL, John Joseph - born on June 7, 1945, in Sudbury, Ontario, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on October 14, 2024, at the Central Okanagan Hospice House in Kelowna, BC, surrounded by his loving family.
John is survived by his daughters, Darlene, Jo-Anne (Doug), and Leanne (Richard); his grandchildren, Nikolas (Melanie), Joseph, Samantha, Kiersten, and Dustin; his great-grandchildren, Aria and Drew; his brother-in-law Len (Fran) Esler; and nieces Stacey and Sue. John will also be dearly missed by his closest childhood friend of 64 years, Pat Eassie. He also leaves behind his cherished canine companions, Jessie James and Shameless Kelowna. He leaves behind extended family and many friends, including his surrogate daughter Tracy (Dean). He was sadly predeceased by his beloved wife, Faye Hall; his brother-in-law Duane Esler; his infant son, Johnny whom he shared with his first wife Faye Greenslade; his parents, Jack & Armande; his brother, Raymond; and by his best friends Bill Eassie and Wayne McCuskee. John is now reunited with them in peace.
John was a man of many talents—a musician who was proud of securing a Nashville recording contract; and a mechanic who loved working with his hands. He also served his country in the Navy from 1963 to 1967, of which he had many fond memories and stories with anyone wanting to hear. John lived life as his true self, a comedian, and entertainer, always quick with his wit, cracking jokes and sharing a smile or a story. A follower of hockey and football, he was an ardent fan of the Calgary Flames, Montreal Canadiens, and the Calgary Stampeders. He loved to spend his time boating, reading, and walking with his beloved collies. He quite enjoyed watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke so many times he could recite the script of any episode.
John’s presence will be deeply missed, but his stories and laughter will continue to echo as we remember him. (Springfield Funeral Home)
