Robert Louis (Bob) Senger

Died: 24 Feb 2025

 

SENGER, Robert Louis (Bob) - was born on April 13, 1936, in Salvador, Saskatchewan and passed away on February 24, 2025, from Alzheimer’s disease. In 1943, his family moved to Kelowna, BC, where he lived until joining the Navy in 1956. He travelled all over the world on different ships and moved several times in the Navy, moving the family to Calgary, Victoria, Comox, and Winnipeg.

 

Robert retired in Winnipeg, MB in 1981 and moved back to Kelowna with his wife Jeanne and their son, Davey. His daughters, Lonnie (Rob) and Dina, moved to Kelowna shortly after. Robert is survived by his wife Jeanne; daughter Lonnie (Rob) O’Leary; daughter Dina (Lawrence) Bates; son Davey (Christa) Senger; his sister, Paulette Senger, grandson Shane; and 5 step-grandchildren, Brad, Chris, Kelly, Patrick, and Joel; and 6 step-great-grandchildren, Kylie, Hailey, Ella, Hannah, Tyler, and Heather.

 

Robert was a hard worker and after retirement from the Military, he worked for the Kelowna School District and the Harvest Golf Course. In his younger years, he loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was never one to sit still and spent his days puttering around the yard. He was also fond of sports and enjoyed golf, skiing, curling, and hockey. One of his passions was music, he loved to dance and was well known for his dancing skills. He had a boisterous laugh and was the life of the party at many family gatherings. His favourite times were spent at his fishing cabins with the family.

 

Robert was predeceased by his parents, Pauline and Louis Senger, and his 3 brothers, Raymond, Stanley, and John.

 

There will be no formal service. No flowers please, please consider donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada instead.
