WILSON, William John - 70, Dartmouth, died December 17, 1998, in Dartmouth General. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, he was a son of the late William John and Agnes (Graham) Wilson. He was in the Royal Canadian Navy for 21 years, serving as a chief petty officer. He then was employed by Shearwater as a chief engineer, and then worked at the Halifax Forum as well as other arenas in the area as chief engineer, retiring in 1988. He belonged to the Jay-Cees. He enjoyed "tinkering" and was well known for his ability to be able to fix anything. He loved animals, especially his beloved Missy and had a special place in his heart for granddaughter, Amanda. Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, the former Florence Irene Keans; daughters, Sandra Antoniuk, Greenwood; Cynthia Gerrior, Forest Hills; sons, William John, Gary Graham, Stephen James, all of Dartmouth; sister, Mary Pratt, Dundas, Ont.; grandchildren, William John IV, Kevin, Carla, Amanda Susan-Leigh, John, Daryl. He was predeceased by brother, Hughie. Cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to DASC Industries, Workshop for the Mentally Challenged.
