AUBUT, Roger - Age 82 of Dartmouth, died peacefully in the VG Site, QEII on the Palliative Care Unit, October 13, 2014. Born in 1932 in Val Brilliant, Que., to Anna and Joseph, he was the oldest son and second oldest of 10. He was a husband, a dad, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, a navy man, a fixer of all things broken and man who loved his gadgets. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose; daughter, Maureen (Kelly); sons, Stephen (Valerie), Brian; daughter, Denise (Tami); stepdaughter, Debbie; stepsons, Mark and Michael (Tammy); granddaughters, Tiffany, Lindsey and Tina; grandsons, Jacob, Matthew, Michael, Trevor, Kevin, Terry. He was predeceased by his first wife, Janet and brothers, Andrew, Germain and Renault. He was a farmer's son who left his small village for the world of the navy. After more than 30 years of serving his country he retired to do, as he often said, whatever he wanted to. Rose and Roger had many adventures in their camper and made many a trip to his home village. He will be missed, but he will always be remembered. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Roger's life will take place 3:30 p.m. Sunday, October 19 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, with a reception to follow. Family flowers only please. Donations in Roger's memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
