MacAULAY, Raymond Gilbert - It is with great sadness that the family of Raymond Gilbert Macaulay announces his passing on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, in Fredericton, NB.
Born in Lower Millstream, Kings Co., NB, he was the son of the late James and Gertrude (Robinson) Macaulay and the loving husband of Dorothy Marie (Wiles) Macaulay.
Raymond was a WWII Navy Veteran with a distinguished service record as a fire fighter with the Department of National Defence, CFB Gagetown. He remained actively involved with the Oromocto Royal Canadian Legion Branch 93, The NB Navy Association, local cadets and the crew and captain of the present day HMCS Charlottetown.
Ray is survived by his wife Dorothy, Ray is survived by his sons Gilbert (Fran), Darrell (Janice) and David (Kelli); daughter Judith; sister Bernice Giberson; grandchildren Cheryl, Christine, Lindsay, Pam, Amy, Jill, Jessica, James, Brad and Kathleen; 11 great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild as well as several cousin, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by a daughter Patricia and brothers Murray and Horace.
Visitation will take place at the Oromocto funeral Home on Friday, December 29, 2017, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 93 will hold a tribute service at 6:45 PM. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at 11:00 AM in the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date.
