ROBINSON, Morley Everett - of Tupper Lake, Cambridge, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at the Valley Regional Hospital on March 5, 2025. Morley was born November 19, 1932 in London, Ontario. His father was Frank Robinson and his mother was Mildred Irene (Youngblut) Robinson. He was a retired Officer with the Royal Canadian Navy, a position he climbed the ranks to become and was very proud of. Over the years Morley wore numerous hats at St. James Anglican Church in Kentville. He sang in the choir, served on parish council, property committee, stewardship committee and as planned giving representative. He was a past member of the Kings South P.C. Association and also on the Board of Directors of the local CNIB. Morley had many affiliations with the Freemasons and Shriners and particularly enjoyed the camaraderie and community involvement. He was also a member of Laurel Chapter No.67 Order of the Eastern Star. In the early days his hobbies included photography, gardening and computer repair.
Morley is survived by his wife and loving partner of 75 years Marion, his children, Sharon Strickland (Norman), Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia, Darryl Robinson (Dianne), Saint John, New Brunswick, Dianne Robinson, Sussex, New Brunswick, Christine Friesen (Patrick), Halifax, Nova Scotia, John Robinson (Angel), London, Ontario, Anthony Robinson (Monica) Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Morley was predeceased by son, Michael (in infancy), grandson Jeffrey Strickland, granddaughter Danielle Albert, and his sister Gail Fiveash.
After Morley and Marion were married in 1950, he started a career with the Canadian National Railway in London, Ontario. After seven years he changed course to Metropolitan Life Insurance where he worked until joining the Royal Canadian Navy in 1960. He moved the family to Nova Scotia in 1961 with postings that included Halifax, Saint John, Montreal and Ottawa before retiring as Lieutenant in 1987. After retirement, he spent his remaining time at their beloved cottage on Tupper Lake.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11 at White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m., Valley Lodge No. 90 of Berwick, Nova Scotia will hold a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will take place at St. James Anglican Church in Kentville, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with a reception to follow. Rev. Kristin MacKenzie officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in the St. James Garden of Rest. Family flowers only. Donations can be made to St. James Anglican Church in Kentville or the charity of your choice.
