BENNETT, Allan Roy - 80, Dartmouth, died June 7, 1996, in Veteran's Memorial Building, Camp Hill Medical Centre. Born in Port aux Basques, Nfld., he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Rodgers) Bennett. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving with the Royal Canadian Navy from 1941-1945. He was then employed until retirement with the Department of Transport, serving on various ships, the last being, the Sir William Alexander as the chief cook. Surviving are his wife, the former Lillian Woodworth; daughters, Mary (Mrs. Fred Gillis), Joan (Mrs. Bill Shellnutt), Dartmouth; stepdaughter, Joan (Mrs. Robert Jones), Ottawa; six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Ivy Billard. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 767 Main St., Dartmouth. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
