DUPUIS, Ronald Wayne - The family of Ronald “Wayne” Dupuis age 84 of Amherst are sad to announce his passing on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at the Northumberland Hall, Shannex, Amherst.
Born in Amherst, he was the son of the late Earl “Kitch” and Georgina (Dupuis) McGilvray.
Wayne spent 26 years serving his country, as a member of the Royal Canadian Navy in Halifax. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 47 years and was past President of Amherst Branch #10.
He enjoyed curling and was a long-standing member with the Amherst Curling Club.
Wayne will be remembered by his son Paul (Jacky) Dupuis and granddaughter Gloria Dupuis all of Sault Ste Marie, On; step sons Shawn McNally and Scott McNally, Amherst; 3 grandchildren Tristan, Teagan and Taurey; brothers, Carl McGilvray, Gary Harrison, and Kenny (Patsy) Harrison; sisters Diane Hanley, Brenda Lee McGilvray and Wanda (Gary) Sperry and extended family.
Besides his parents Wayne was predeceased by his wives, Dianne (Estabrooks) and Gloria (Nelson); son Peter; sister Gwen Hitchcock; brothers Bob Harrison and Phillip McGilvray and brother in law Bob Hanley.
A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held in the spring.
Memorial contributions can be made in Wayne’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or Heart & Stroke Foundation.
