BAKER, Stanley Warren James - Received into God's loving arms, Stanley left earth on Monday, December 24, 2012 with his family by his side. Stanley was the devoted and loving husband of Dorothy Irene Baker (nee Richardson) for 65 years. Father and mentor to son Bradley Warren James Baker of Sandford and daughter Susan Elaine Hopkins of Innisfil and a supportive and loving father-in-law to Cathryn Baker and Christopher Hopkins. He was a special grandpa to six grandchildren: Jocelyn, Jeffrey, Carolyn (deceased) and Mackenzie Baker and Tyler and Spencer Hopkins. He shared in every success, joy, accomplishment and challenge they have faced. A RCN WWII Veteran, Stanley at the age of 18 years enlisted in the RCN and made 22 crossings of the Atlantic to defend and protect his country for the life we all enjoy today. A life so well lived and shared with the love of his life Dorothy. Stanley touched so many lives with endearing and engaging conversations within the community, the church, friends and family. A celebration of his life and accomplishments will be held at the Sandford United Church (405 Sandford Road, Sandford, Ontario L0C 1E0) on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. A reception to follow at Low and Low Funeral Home (23 Main Street, South, Uxbridge), 905-852-3073. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital.
