Son of John Daniel Nowe and Dinah Priscilla Nowe (née Demone). Morton married Kathleen Rose Nowe, daughter of Morris Nowe and Ina Nowe (née Ritchey) Morton is buried in the First South Community Cemetery, First South, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia.
