BANNER, Clifford - It is with sadness the family of Clifford Banner announce his passing on the 24th of October. He had turned 103 on the 5th of July this year. Cliff was the father of 5 children. His daughters, Patricia Crozier (Gary) and Edith Dahlgren predeceased him. Leaving to mourn his passing, daughters Vera Appleby (Bob), Deborah Beecroft, and son David (Maureen). Cliff has 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren as well as many great great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Ted and Francis Banner, his sisters, Velma and Ruth and his brothers Ed and Walt, his first wife Dorothy Baldock and second wife Dorothy Boyles. His passing is mourned by his current wife, Sylvia Currie and her daughter Lynn (Glenn) Bedard.

Cliff grew up in the small community of Shirley and attended the Shirley Community School. At the age of 15 he was working in the logging industry. He joined the RCN and served on the west and east coast during WWII. On returning home after the war, he was back logging until he went to work for BC Hydro for over 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and instilled his love for these adventures in his son, sons-in-law and his grandsons. His daughters, and granddaughters were the apples of his eye and his visits over the years kept them smiling. He spent his spare time bowling and golfing and was still playing crib and counting his cards like a pro when he passed.

He was loved and respected by all his friends and family and will greatly missed.
