FOX, Edward Ross - (WWII Royal Canadian Navy Veteran) Peacefully, at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, on January 9, 2004, as a result of complications of ALS. Ed, beloved husband of 58 years to the late Evelyn. Much loved and special Dad to John and his partner Ginette, Ellen Illidge, Ann and her husband Bruce, and predeceased by son Paul. Cherished 'Papa' of Rebecca, Emma, Sara, Emily, Amanda, Alexandra, Madeline and Genevieve. Sadly missed brother of Al and predeceased by brothers Bill, Ray, Jack, Gordon, Andy, Harry, and sister Margaret. Uncle Ed will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and relatives, and was friend to many, including the Adelphians and members of the J.J. Division. Edward was a longtime dedicated volunteer within the Beach community and an active member of the Toronto Eglinton Rotary Club. Throughout his career and retirement he maintained a strong interest in, and advocacy for environmental issues. Friends will be received at the Sherrin Funeral Home, 873 Kingston Road (west of Victoria Park Avenue) (416-698-2861), on Sunday, January 11, 2004 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service commemorating Ed's life will be held at Kew Beach United Church, 140 Wineva Avenue, on Monday, January 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to Community Centre 55, would be greatly appreciated by the family. (The Globe and Mail 12 Jan 2004)
