GEORGE, H. Edgar (Ted) - Peacefully at the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington on Wednesday, December 13, 2000, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Betty (nee McCarter) George, (originally of St. John's, NFLD). Loving father of Jennifer Cairns and her husband Andrew of Burlington and Duncan George of Stouffville. Much loved grandfather of Nicola, Robin, Carla, Isaac and Alanna. He is survived by his sister-inlaw Merlyn George of Burlington. He was predeceased by his brother Noel George. He was the former Vice President of Frid Construction Co. and was a member of the Hamilton Golf and Country Club. He served in the RCNVR in World War II. Visitation at Smith's Funeral Home, 485 Brant Street (one block north of City Hall) Burlington on Friday from 3-5 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will be held at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 1371 Elgin Street, Burlington on Saturday, December 16, 2000 at 11 a.m. Cremation. If desired, expressions of sympathy to the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Leukemia Research Fund would be sincerely appreciated by the family. (The Globe and Mail 14 Dec 2000)
