JENNINGS, James Milton - It is with great sadness that the family of James Milton Jennings of Back Centre announces his passing on Monday, March 26th at the Veteran’s Unit of the Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital.
Born in Back Centre on June 12, 1921 he was the son of the late James and Annie (Conrad) Jennings.
Milton worked for 49 years at National Sea Products in Lunenburg and was a member of First South United Church where he served as an Elder for many years.
Milton served for 7 years in the Royal Canadian Navy as Petty Officer aboard convoy ships in the North Atlantic. He was a loyal member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #23, Lunenburg and so enjoyed his morning trips to the Legion to discuss the daily events with his friends.
His sense of humor, kind heart and legendary stories will be fondly remembered.
Milton is survived by his wife Jean (Covey), daughter Heather (Brian) MacIntosh Montreal, granddaughter Jill (Marco) Bozzi, great grandson Matteo and great granddaughter Arianna , Montreal.
He was predeceased by his sister Mayola Reardon and brother George.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #3, Lunenburg where visitation will take place Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and from where a service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Vivian Moores officiating. Interment will be held in First South Cemetery, First South.
