In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar

William James (Jamie) Phillips

C.A.F. (Navy) / RCN

Born: 1983          Died: Jun 2024

PHILLIPS, William James (Jamie) - It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Jamie, almost four years after his cancer diagnosis. Throughout years of chemotherapy, radiation, clinical trials, and surgery, he continued to stay positive and live his life to the fullest. Unable to work, he created music podcasts, explored his creative abilities, and worked to support artist friends. He continued his connections with friends from around the world. Jamie was an adventurer and loved to travel. With friends, family, or his beloved wife by his side, he visited 36 countries on 6 continents, making lifelong friends wherever he went.

After graduating university, he taught in Japan, then joined the Royal Canadian Navy. He later took a job with the Canadian Government in Ottawa, where he met the love of his life, Victoria.

Our family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and support workers at the Ottawa Cancer Centre for their care and concern for our Jamie.

We will forever miss our wonderful son, husband, brother, grandson, son-in-law, uncle, nephew, brother-in-law, cousin and friend. Jamie lived a full life, for which he was very grateful, but he was ready to let go and begin his next adventure!
